Cookie policy

This policy explains how Labo Legal uses cookies and similar technologies on its site. It supplements our privacy policy.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file placed by a site in your browser. Among other things, it makes it possible to carry information from one page to the next, such as the contents of a cart, or to remember display preferences.

What we use

Two categories of mechanism are used on this site.

Strictly necessary storage. The contents of your cart and certain display preferences are kept in your browser's memory, on your device. This data does not leave your device, is transmitted to no one and is used for no profiling. Without it, the cart does not work.

Audience measurement cookies. Google Analytics sets two cookies, described in the next section. These are not necessary for the site to function and are set only with your consent.

Audience measurement

We measure traffic to the site using two tools.

The analytics tool of our host, Vercel. It sets no cookie and uses no persistent identifier. It produces only aggregate statistics: pages viewed, the page the visitor came from, device type, country.

Google Analytics 4. This tool sets cookies on your device and transmits them to Google. They help us understand how the site is used: which pages are viewed, for how long, by what path, and whether the same browser returns. We do not use them for advertising, for retargeting or for automated decision-making.

These cookies contain neither your name, nor your email address, nor any information about a file. We tie them to no client. Google acts as a supplier and processes this data under its own terms; the processing takes place outside Québec, see the section on that point in our privacy policy.

Your consent

These cookies are not set by default. On your first visit, a banner asks whether you accept audience measurement. Until you have answered, and if you refuse, no measurement cookie is placed on your device and no data is sent to Google for that purpose. The site works normally either way: refusing limits neither browsing, nor the cart, nor ordering.

Your answer is kept on your device so that the question is not asked again on every page. It is not transmitted to any third party.

Changing your mind. You may change your decision at any time, in either direction, using the link provided for that purpose in the site footer. Withdrawing consent is as simple as giving it, and takes effect immediately.

Other means of refusal. Independently of the banner, three means remain available to you, none of which affects how the site works: the opt-out add-on published by Google, any content blocker, or blocking third-party cookies in your browser settings. You may also write to us at contact@labolegal.ca: we will remove your data from the measurement.

What we do not use

We use no advertising cookies, no social network pixels and no cookies used to follow you from one site to another for targeting purposes. The Google Analytics cookies described above serve only to measure the audience of this site; the advertising features and Google signals are not enabled.

Third-party services

Certain features call on external services that may set their own cookies or collect technical data when the content is displayed: the typefaces and the map on our contact page, as well as the payment provider when you place an order. These services are subject to their own policies. We deliberately keep their number to a minimum.

Managing or deleting cookies

You may at any time erase the site data kept by your browser or block its recording through your browser's settings. Be aware, however, that blocking local storage will prevent the cart from working properly.

Amendments
