The page count is the only variable in the price. Here is the rule, set out in advance, so there is no surprise on either side.
Letter format, Arial 12 point, single spacing, margins of 2.54 cm. That is the standard the count is measured against, whatever the layout of your document.
Text in a smaller size, with tighter spacing or in columns is brought back to that standard. A very dense page can therefore count as two.
Any page begun counts as a full page. Appendices, schedules, tables and attachments are counted in the same way as the body of the contract.
The final count is established on receipt of the document. If it differs significantly from what was paid, we tell you and adjust before starting.
The package covers the reading, the analysis and one round of written comments, plus 30 minutes of consultation. It does not cover full drafting, negotiation with the other party, or representation in a dispute.

No. The package covers the analysis of the document and our written comments. Drafting a contract in full, negotiating with the other party and representing you in a dispute are separate mandates, which we can quote separately.
One round of comments is included per document. If the other party sends back an amended version and you want it examined, that is a new order, calculated on the number of pages of that version.
Allow 3 to 5 business days from receipt of the complete document, depending on its length and how busy the period is. A serious review takes longer than a registry filing.
We review documents in French and in English. Our comments are provided in the language you order in, unless you ask otherwise.
You can tell us the nature and length of the document through the contact form, and we will confirm the page count before you buy. The reading and the analysis begin once the package is ordered.

If you withdraw before the work begins, we refund you, less processing and billing administration fees of $100. No refund is possible once the reading has begun. If we are not in a position to serve you, you are refunded in full.
